  • Metalworking CFA: CFA in metalworking offers alternating training accessible from the end of middle school. Apprentices wishing to enroll must first find a company willing to hire and train them. After that, they must commit to taking the course at the chosen institution. CFA metalworking offers training for metalworking professions (locksmith, boilermaker, artistic blacksmith, welder, etc.). They guarantee quality training combining theoretical learning (general courses) and technical (practical work in workshops and on-site). Most work in collaboration with local artisans to ensure continuity of training and professional integration. These courses are graduates, ranging from CAP to BTS, BP, and BEP.
  • CAP locksmith: The role of the locksmith is to create security equipment (protective grilles, door armor, installation locks, etc.) or decorative elements (balconies, railings, grilles, etc.). The CAP course lasts two years and can be supplemented by additional training of one or two years (for example, with a professional certificate). The apprentice follows alternating courses. Within the CFA, they will take general courses related to their field of apprenticeship. In metallurgy, courses in physical sciences and mathematics will be prioritized. In the workshop, they will be introduced to metalworking activities with practical work such as machining (marking, shaping, drilling, etc.), construction work (building frames, doors, etc.), welding techniques, and construction work. They will learn about different working techniques (drawing and reading drawings) as well as the various tools and machines.
  • BP in metallurgy: The professional certificate is the alternating professional training that leads to production or site management jobs (construction manager, team leader, etc.). It complements the PAC training and lasts for a period of two years and is structured in two phases. Initially, apprentices take general courses (mathematics, French, etc.) over a period of 6 weeks. On the other hand, more technical training is provided, during which apprentices learn to study, draw, and design plans and projects (doors and gates, stairs, etc.). They become familiar with the working techniques of ferrous metals (stainless steel, steel) and non-ferrous metals (copper, aluminum, alloy). In the second year, apprentices tackle more complex projects and are introduced to management and project management techniques. This two-year cycle is validated at the end of the course by writing a thesis and taking a final exam.
  • CAP blacksmith: the artistic blacksmith creates works in iron, cooking, stainless steel, etc. Unlike the work of a metal locksmith, this type of work is more aimed at decoration. The blacksmith also works on construction sites, in collaboration with architects or heritage professionals, to bring an artistic touch to an architectural ensemble. The CAP in artistic blacksmithing trains apprentices in interpreting plans, managing the quantities of materials needed for various projects, and using welding machines and cutting tools. This alternating training also allows them to attend lessons on the materials and products used. They learn the characteristics of metals, the history of their use, and the different drawing techniques. The CAP in artistic blacksmithing is a two-year alternating training, which primarily leads to active life but can be supplemented by an additional two-year training in a professional baccalaureate.

The guide of recommendations on health safety for the continuity of construction activities during the Covid-19 coronavirus epidemic has just been updated on the OPPBTP website.

The main changes concern the wearing of masks and, in particular, the application of regulations on construction sites, with some specificities to take into account. OPPBTP reminds that the epidemic has not disappeared and that it is necessary to remain very vigilant by continuing to apply barrier gestures and hygiene measures to avoid contamination.
